Previous Projects in Sri Lanka

During the previous multi-year project cycle from 2017 - 2021, FAIRMED FOUNDATION closely collaborated with partners in Sri Lanka, to ensure the successful implementation of activities for the prevention and control of Leprosy.

After thirty years of involvement in Sri Lanka's leprosy control program, FAIRMED FOUNDATION found that concentrating its efforts in fewer districts would yield better results than working across the entire nation. As a result, Ratnapura, & Polonnaruwa districts, and the Colombo Municipal Council area were selected to implement the leprosy prevention and control programme with FAIRMED providing technical backstopping and financial assistance.
