Eye Care at Samagipuram, Polonnaruwa

The community in Samagipuram, Polonnaruwa, is one of the most vulnerable and marginalized groups in the district. Also, following a screening conducted in partnership with the health authorities, it was found that many people had visual defects. With these analytics, FAIRMED Sri Lanka took the initiative to go on a "Mission on Vision".

Approximately, 110 community members were screened, 54 were provided with reading glasses and 23 were detected with cataracts, at the eye camp conducted on the 22nd January 2023.
