Special Screening Clinic at Buddhayaya Temple, Lankapura MOH area, Polonnaruwa District – 16.03.2021

 

A special screening clinic for the community of Buddhayaya village was conducted on the 16th March 2021 at the Buddhayaya Temple belonging to the Lankapura MOH area of Polonnaruwa District. All the participants were screened for leprosy and various skin diseases and medicine prescribed accordingly. The screening clinic was conducted with the support of the Regional Epidemiologist and his staff, Medical Officer and his staff of the mobile clinic, Public Health Inspector for Leprosy, Range Public Health Inspector along with the FAIRMED Project Officer in the Polonnaruwa District.

Ring Survey - Yakdehiwaththa village, Nivithigala MOH Area, Ratnapura District – 28.04.2021

 

A ring survey was conducted in the Yakdehiwaththa village belonging to the Nivithigala Medical Officer of Health area of Ratnapura District on the 28th of April, 2021. All the participants were screened and made aware of skin diseases including Leprosy during this survey. Those in need of further care were referred to the clinic at MOH office of Nivithigala which was held in the 08th of May, 2021. The survey was conducted by the Medical Officer and Additional Medical Officer of Health - Nivithigala, the Supervisory Public Health Inspector, the Range Public Health Inspector, and the Public Health Inspector for Leprosy with the support of the Ratnapura District Project Officer of FAIRMED Foundation.

Mobile Clinic for the community of Elahera Medical Officer of Health area in the Polonnaruwa District – 12.03.2021

 

A mobile clinic for the community of Elahera Medical Officer of Health area in the Polonnaruwa District was conducted on the 12th March 2021 at the Bakamoona Divisional Hospital belonging to Elahera MOH area of Polonnaruwa. All the participants were screened for leprosy and various skin diseases and medicines prescribed accordingly. Those in need of further care were referred to the dermatology clinic of the Polonnaruwa General Hospital. The clinic was conducted with the support of the Regional Epidemiologist and his staff, Dermatologist of the Medirigiriya Base Hospital, Medical Officer and his staff of the mobile clinic, the Supervisory Public Health Inspector of the area and Public Health Inspector for Leprosy along with the FAIRMED Project Officer in the Polonnaruwa District.

A ring survey was conducted in the Parawaththa village belonging to the Nivithigala Medical Officer of Health area of Ratnapura District on the 21st of April 2021. All the participants were screened and made aware of skin diseases including Leprosy during this survey. Those in need of further care were referred to the clinic at MOH office of Nivithigala which was held in the 28th of April 2021. The survey was conducted by the Medical Officer and Additional Medical Officer of Health - Nivithigala, the Supervisory Public Health Inspector, the Range Public Health Inspector, and the Public Health Inspector for Leprosy with the support of the Ratnapura District Project Officer of FAIRMED Foundation.

A ring survey was conducted in the Pelatiyawa village of the Siripura Medical Officer of Health area in the Polonnaruwa District on the 10th March 2021. All the participants were screened and made aware of skin diseases including Leprosy and COVID-19 disease. The survey was conducted by the staff of the Regional Epidemiology Unit, Public Health Inspector for Leprosy, Range Public Health Inspectors of the area with the support of the Polonnaruwa District Project Officer of FAIRMED Foundation.

The school students were screened for skin conditions including leprosy. The screening was conducted by the Medical Officer of Health – Ratnapura, Medical Officer of Gurubewilagama Primary Medical Center, the Supervisory Public Health Inspector, the Public Health Inspector for Leprosy, Range Public Health Inspector, Public Health Nursing Sister, Nursing Officer of Gurubewilagama Primary Medical Center with the support of the Ratnapura District Project Officer of FAIRMED Foundation.

Community Screening Programme - Walimankada of Manampitiya Village, Siripura MOH area, Polonnaruwa District – 24.02.2021

 

A community screening programme was conducted in the sand collecting site in the Welimankada area of Manampitiya village belonging to the Siripura Medical Officer of Health area of Polonnaruwa District on the 24th of February 2021. All the participants were screened and made aware of skin diseases including Leprosy during this screening. Those in need of further care was referred to the dermatology clinic of the Polonnaruwa General Hospital. The survey was conducted with the guidance of the Regional Director of Health Services and coordinated with the support of the Regional Epidemiologist and his staff, all other preventive health staff attached to the RDHS office, public health field staff, Local NGOs and the Polonnaruwa District Project Officer of FAIRMED Foundation.
