An awareness programme on leprosy was conducted for the office staff on the 12th of October, 2021 at the Embilipitiya MOH Office in the Ratnapura district. The programme was conducted with the support of the Medical Officer of Health, Additional Medical Officer of Health, the SPHI and PHI- Leprosy along with the FAIRMED Project Officer and other PHIs from the Ratnapura area.
A ring survey was conducted in the Paalugasdamana village of the Thamankaduwa Medical Officer of Health area of Polonnaruwa District on the 6th of October 2021. All the participants were screened and made aware of skin diseases including Leprosy during this survey. The survey was conducted with the support of the Staff of the Regional Epidemiology Unit, by PHI Leprosy, Range PHI and other Public Health Inspectors and the Project Officer (Polonnaruwa) of FAIRMED Foundation.
A special screening clinic for the staff of Khaleefa Rice Mills was conducted on the 16th of August 2021 at the Rice Mill premises in Minneriya. All the participants were screened for leprosy and various skin diseases after which medicine was prescribed accordingly. The screening clinic was conducted by the Regional Epidemiologist with the support of the Medical Officer of the Mobile Clinic, the staff of the Regional Epidemiology unit and the FAIRMED Project Officer in the Polonnaruwa District.
A special screening clinic for the employees of the LG Farm located in the Welikanda MOH area of the Polonnaruwa district was conducted on the 20th of July 2021 at the Farm premises. All the participants were screened for leprosy and other skin diseases, after which medicine was prescribed accordingly. The screening clinic was conducted by the Regional Epidemiologist with the support of the staff of the Regional Epidemiology unit and the FAIRMED Project Officer in the Polonnaruwa District.
A ring survey was conducted in the Sewanapitiya, Ginidamana village of the Welikanda Medical Officer of Health area in the Polonnaruwa District on the 29th June 2021. All the participants were screened and made aware of skin diseases including Leprosy. The survey was conducted by the staff of the Regional Epidemiology Unit, Public Health Inspector for Leprosy, Range Public Health Inspectors of the area with the support of the Polonnaruwa District Project Officer of FAIRMED Foundation.

The survey was conducted by the staff of the Regional Epidemiology Unit, Public Health Inspector for Leprosy, Range Public Health Inspectors of the area with the support of the Polonnaruwa District Project Officer of FAIRMED Foundation.
A special screening clinic for the community of Sewanapitiya village was conducted on the 18th June, 2021 at the clinic center of Sewanapitiya belonging to the Welikanda MOH area of Polonnaruwa District. All the participants were screened for leprosy and various skin diseases and medicine prescribed accordingly. The screening clinic was conducted with the support of the staff of the Regional Epidemiology Unit, Medical Officer and his staff of the mobile clinic, Public Health Inspector for Leprosy, Range Public Health Inspector along with the FAIRMED Project Officer in the Polonnaruwa District.
A special screening clinic for the community of Bisopura village was conducted on the 17th June 2021 at the clinic center of Bisopura belonging to the Medirigiriya MOH area of Polonnaruwa District. All the participants were screened for leprosy and various skin diseases and medicine was prescribed accordingly. The screening clinic was conducted with the support of the staff of the Regional Epidemiology Unit, Medical Officer and his staff of the mobile clinic, Public Health Inspector for Leprosy, Range Public Health Inspector along with the FAIRMED Project Officer in the Polonnaruwa District.
A mobile clinic for the community of Diyasenpura PHI area of Medirigiriya Medical Officer of Health area in the Polonnaruwa District was conducted on the 19th March 2021 at the Meegaswewa Sri Visuddharama Temple belonging to Medirigiriya MOH area of Polonnaruwa. All the participants were screened for leprosy and various skin diseases and medicines prescribed accordingly. Those in need of further care were referred to the dermatology clinic of the Medirigiriya Base Hospital. The clinic was conducted with the support of Dr. Nayani Suriyarachchi (Country Coordinator of FAIRMED Foundation Sri Lanka), Regional Epidemiologist and his staff, Dermatologist of the Medirigiriya Base Hospital, Medical Officer and his staff of the mobile clinic, Public Health Inspector for Leprosy and Range Public Health Inspector of the area along with the FAIRMED Project Coordinator and Project Officer in the Polonnaruwa District.
A ring survey was conducted in the Sri Samanpura village belonging to the Eheliyagoda Medical Officer of Health area of Ratnapura District on the 29th of April, 2021. All the participants were screened and made aware of skin diseases including Leprosy during this survey. Those in need of further care were referred to the clinic at the MOH office of Eheliyagoda which was held on the 08th of May, 2021. The survey was conducted by the Medical Officer and Additional Medical Officer of Health - Eheliyagoda, the Supervisory Public Health Inspector, the Range Public Health Inspector, and the Public Health Inspector for Leprosy, Public Health Nursing Sister with the support of the Ratnapura District Project Officer of FAIRMED Foundation.
